Bellwood Street Green Busway
After some 15 years of working with council on keeping Bellwood Street closed to traffic, it has finally been converted to a Green Busway, with a commitment from council for the street to remain closed to the general public.
The reasons behind this were mainly to do with keeping a limited number of entrances and exits to the suburb, to reduce rat running.
A bus service to the Darra train station has been established (the 451 bus route).
The current solution is not ideal, with breakdowns common. The SPRPA is in continuing discussion with Council about a more permanent solution.
