Oldfield Road Intersection
The Oldfield Road intersection with Seventeen Mile Rocks road is struggling under current traffic loads entering and leaving the suburb, particularly during early morning traffic. This will only get worse with the opening of the DFO, and the construction of the proposed retirement village.
A subcommittee put forward a series of eight options to council for improving this intersection.
These were presented at a meeting with Council Traffic Planners, who have taken these on board. An outcome is still pending.
The options presented included traffic lights, a roundabout, and various combinations of turning lanes.
The retirement village developer, as a requirement of the approval, is to contribute financially to this intersection upgrade.
